Lot 1 is a Dollar General merchandise liquidation truckload: an entire trailer of assorted general merchandise, sold used and as-is without a manifest, with freight anywhere in the US included. Buying one as your first big purchase is a step up, so the notes below are written with newcomers in mind. The discount chain is mentioned only as where the goods originated.
A First-Timer’s Walkthrough of a Dollar General Merchandise Liquidation Truckload
1. Check that you can receive it
Delivery is curbside. A loading dock, forklift or pallet jack makes unloading easiest, and you need somewhere for every pallet to go. None of that equipment at your building? Message us first.
2. Plan your space
Skid numbers differ from trailer to trailer. Measure your floor and assume it will fill faster than you expect once pallets are opened.
3. Line up help
Unloading and first sorting go far faster with two or three people.
4. Know your outlets
Decide in advance where things go: bin floor, market table, online listings, discount shelves, and a disposal route for damaged goods.
5. Expect a mix
Mixed merchandise lots vary widely. Some pallets will be strong, some weak. Judge the truck as a whole, not one pallet at a time.
6. Keep records
Write down what each pallet held, how long it took and where the goods went. Your second truckload will be easier for it.
About Lot 1
The title reads Dollar General General Merchandise Liquidation Truckload, catalogued in our general goods section. You get a whole trailer of skids; how many skids, and how many pieces on each, changes with every load. No contents list exists.
What Shape Things Will Be In
Expect a real spread. Some cartons might be untouched; plenty of goods will be handled, scuffed, broken, short of parts or dead. Items are not tested; nobody here powers anything up. If you come across anything consumable, look at every closure and printed date when the trailer is unloaded, and bin whatever is open or stale.
Who Usually Orders Wholesale Truckload Lots
Variety and dollar-style shops, bin operators, weekend swap meet vendors, and people who carve a bulk merchandise truckload into small bundles to pass along to other sellers.
Arrival Logistics
Trucking within the US costs nothing extra. Delivery is curbside under the Shipping Policy. Would you prefer to collect? We can book a slot, and our Shipping Policy explains how long a paid load can wait here.
Paperwork and Claims
Everything is sold as-is and unmanifested, but returns are accepted under the Returns & Refund Policy, with the buyer paying return freight on standard returns and no restocking fee. If a skid is missing or arrives crushed, raise it using the steps in that policy and the Shipping Policy.
First Truckload FAQ
Is a truckload right for a beginner?
It can be, if you have unloading equipment, space and help. Many start with a single pallet first to learn the process.
Is the chain involved in this load?
No. Its name tells you where the goods came from, nothing more, and it offers no backing.
Will I get a list of what is aboard?
No list is provided. Hang on to the bill of lading the driver hands you and write any crushed skids on it.
